Dr. Hannah M. Kirton

I am a senior postdoctorate research fellow with 15 years cardiovascular and neuroscience research expertise and knowledge. My journey began as a Neuroscience Ph.D student in the laboratory of an inspiring supervisor, at the University of Leeds, researching peripheral nerve pain and hyperexcitabilty disorders with respect to ion channel physiology.
This encouraged my decision to enhance my curiosity for ion channel physiology leading to my first and current postdoctoral role at the Cellular Cardiovascular Division Leeds University researching the arrhythmic heart and type II diabetes. During my first postdoc I maintained a collaborative association with my Ph.D supervisor, which displayed an opportunity to work at the University of Texas, Health Science Center, San Antonio (UTHSCSA) using cutting edge research techniques.
